This document, describes how to use V-vocal. Note: in order to do this, you will also need to have downloaded the accompanying V-Vocal.hsc set. for V-Vocal. The set was created by Jason Dacent, and Phil Muir. To use V-Vocal follow these steps:
- 1: Select the track that you want to process with V-Vocal.
- 2: Select the time range you want to process with f9 and f10.
- 3: Create a V-Vocal clip by pressing shift v.
- 4: You have to select the clip to process again from within the V-Vocal window. Do this by pressing control a.
- 5: Make sure the pitch correct mode is selected bye pressing 1 on the top row of the pc keyboard.
Note: there are 4 tabs in v-vocal. They are: pitch which, can be accessed with the keystroke, number 1 dynamics, which, can be accessed with the keystroke number 2, time which, is accessed with number 3, and formant which, is accessed with number 4 on the top numbers row on the keyboard.
- 6: Turn the scale function on with control alt Shift s.
- 7: Set the scale type to Major by pressing shift windows m, or minor by pressing alt windows m. Major is selected when you first open the V-Vocal window.
- 8: Select the rout note of the scale by doing the following: select notes c through g with control 1 through control 8, Select notes g#through b with shift 1 through shift 4.
- 9: Correct the pitch by pressing alt shift p.
- 10: Finally, close the V-Vocal window by pressing alt f4.
We have also created hot spots for sliders.
- Note sense slider: Alt+Shift+n.
- And Vibrato sence slider: control alt v.

- Undo: Ctrl+Z,
- Redo: Ctrl+Shift+Z,
- Cancel drag gesture: Esc,
- Select All: Ctrl+A,

- Return selection to default settings: Delete,

- Show/hide waveform in Pitch edit mode: Shift+W,
- Go to/Center cursor: G.,
- Scroll up/down:Up/Down arrow keys: PageUp/PageDown,
- And to Scroll left/right: Left/Right arrow keys,
To Conform Pitches to a Scale:
- 1: Use the Arrow tool to select the region where you want to correct pitches.
- 2: Click the Scale button so that it is enabled (light blue).
- 3: Click a Maj or Min button to select a major or minor scale, respectively.
- 4: Click a note on the Keyboard button to select the root note of the scale. The notes of the scale you selected turn light blue on the Keyboard button.
- 5: Click the Correct button. The selected area conforms to the light blue notes on the keyboard.
